Squinting even more, you can finally make out the man's dark red tunic with a white dove sewn on it - the classic symbol for a messenger from King Ayan.
You quickly start walking towards the messenger, guessing that he is there on the king's business.
As soon as you are in front of him, the messenger pulls back on the reins of his horse, and looks down at you. "The king wishes your presence at the castle immediately," he tells you. "It is about..."
However, before the messenger can say anything more, arrows come flying out of the nearby forest, puncturing the man's chest. He topples slowly off the horse, dead.
