You ask the innkeeper about the other trouble he mentioned. He looks a little reluctant to speak of it now, almost like he didn't mean to say it in the first place.
"Erm, did I say there was trouble? I didn't mean anything serious really, just umÂ…"
"Look you might as well tell me, I'm not going to go away now that you've gone and raised my interest to such a large degree."
The innkeeper looks around like he's being watched, but there's nobody else even in the place.
"Okay I'll tell you what I know, and I don't know much more than what anyone else could tell you except perhaps the town mayor and he's been keeping to his office nowadays. Okay well soon after the Manticore business was taken care of, everything went back to normal for awhile, but then suddenly townspeople started disappearing. Remember you asked about the manticore cave and if anyone checked? Well there were a few people who did go up there wondering if the disappearances were connected, but they never came back. I suppose it's possible that it's still alive, but it seems unlikely. If the manticore was still alive, it still doesn't explain the disappearances in town. The last time it killed someone here, everyone knew about it, it isn't subtle or small enough to be so sneaky. The mayor of the town told everyone to not go up there anymore and was very adamant about it. He says he doesn't want anyone else to get themselves killed needlessly, but there's still disappearances. I don't know what's happening, but everyone's scared. A few have attempted to leave the town, but who knows if they made it or not? If you do go up there, I suggest you do it quickly and get out. That's all I can tell you."
