You light up your firebombs and throw them where you think they'll do the most damage. As soon as they go off, lizard parts go flying in the air and the survivors begin running around in panic.

You take advantage of the situation and run to get the gem. If you have a dagger or iron spike you can easily pry it out, but if not your end up having to use another weapon and in your haste you end up cracking and chipping the gem.

Before you attempt to leave, you hear cries for help.

"Please! Stranger! Save us and set us free!"
"Yes! Free us!"

It's the captives, they're pleading to you to rescue them.
