Brothers
You decide that it's really none of your business what he does. You want to be helpful to them, but not dominating. Besides, it's just a little pot, right?
As time goes by you start to regret not intervening as he begins experimenting with different things. He's high a lot, and you are quite certain that those marks on his arm aren't because he's clumsy. He doesn't say much of anything to anyone anymore. He just locks himself up in his room and does whichever drugs he plans on doing that day.
A few months later you get a part time job working in a phone center, partly to get out of the house and partly to help out with the household bills. You do a decent job convincing people to buy things they don't really need and they're talking about promoting you when you graduate next year.
Towards the end of the next year, you receive a few offers from a few colleges asking you to attend. Some of them look promising, but you would have to move away from home to attend.
You don't want to leave your brothers with your drunken father and absent mother, but the education can really prepare you for your future.
On the other hand, the job you have is ready to promote you when you graduate high school next month.
