What Lies Above
You walk up to the closest person to you. She's a thin woman who looks old enough to be your mother. You try to talk to her, but she just looks up at you in a daze. You move on to a boy of about your age, but you get a similar response. This is a frightened group of people.
Eventually, someone else speaks up.
"People, we're all scared, but we have to do something!" she says, addressing those of you who haven't gone to sleep yet.
"You heard Cormac," starts the woman you tried to talk to earlier, "the best thing we can do is whatever we're told. I, for one, want to see my family again!"
There are murmurs of agreement throughout the room.
