Unbalanced
Blearily, your eyes open once again, and once again not in your home. Surrounding you are huge structures of bone, curved like talons stretching into the grey sky. A cold wind howls through here, whipping blue and purple dust into the sky.
Then, a voice fills your bones. For some, it is coldly comforting, for others, it swells with pride and sinister tones.
"I have given you a gift, my mortals. The sight of Death is one shared across worlds and times. What you have seen has occurred, but yet, your actions have an effect upon it."
Suddenly, a figure steps beside you. It wears armor woven with bone and plate, all worn with battle for eons. Curiously, instead of a helm it has donned a thick black hood. The creature looks at you, the area where it's face should be blacker than any possible void.
"I'm betting that you're confused," Foresight speaks, "Let me explain. We can't technically do, well…most of this. But we also have to or you all just die a whole lot and well...this time we can't let that happen. So I teamed up with your Death God to let you all see through a dead thing's eyes."
You swear there is a slight chuckle on the wind.
"Well, to cover our tracks, we couldn't just give you the exact timeline. So we gave you a little, eh, wiggle room? It looks more natural that way, trust us. That’s why your stories might sound conflicting. But one of them WAS true. And all of them probably had something worth knowing. Also this part is horrifying to most of you."
The pillars of bone around you begin to shift and crack, expanding outward in a bent spiral. Bright light floods the room you are in…which you soon come to realize is no room at all. You stand in the palm of a massive skeletal construct, it's fingers curved away from you towards a dark red horizon. Around you, dozens more of these bone titans stomp forward, some on two legs, some on four, all with a dark mechanical lockstep. In the far distance, a gargantuan worm surges forward, encrusted in bone and jewels, spurred on by its demonic rider.
Your vision fades quickly, and the cold voice radiates through your being once more.
"The armies of Death stand ready to defend our world once more. But it is up to you all to prepare your Realm."
With that, you awake in your bed, as real as always.
