Unbalanced
It takes some difficult work, but you finally help the warrior move enough rubble to continue. After walking for what feels like another ten minutes, you come across a divide. Glancing down at a passageway containing a single door, the warrior motions with his axe at the opposite set of stairs.
"There. That's the main entrance to her dias. But this is as far as we may go together Risen One. She will control you if she knows you are here, and you will be forced to attack me. I cannot have that risk as I go to slay her...she is beyond cunning."
At that his voice softens, almost in admiration.
"I am sorry for this, but I must do it. I hope in your final moments you forgive me."
Suddenly, the symbol on his armor flares to life, glowing images of a serpent and lion bursting from the aether. The light envelops you softly, and although you are aware that your body is being disintegrated, you feel no pain. Curiously, you turn your hand back and forth, watching it become dust.
His eyes lowered, the man speaks softly, holding a hand towards you. Gently, he places it on your shoulder, and he raises his eyes to meet yours.
"This is all I can do. Go in peace, poor soul."
