And All Things Will End

You bury it deep, and remain stoic on the outside. You follow Aela quietly as she walks. Unlike you, she has not bothered to hide her fear.

"What are we going to do? We can't find our way out!" She sputters. An answer does not come to you.

An orange light emerges from the black depths in front of you. It flickers, and is near to the ground.

You have come back to the entrance of the mines.

In the dim light Hunter's corpse lies twisted and mangled. His face is contorted beyond recognition, and his eyes have been torn from their sockets with a hand that was not gentle. One of legs is bent the wrong direction, and the bones have jutted out of the skin in protest.

On his upper arm, tattoos grasp against the skin. A faint blue glow emanates from them. These are the tattoos that indicate a mage.

Then, you recognize the word that Hunter had said before you parted ways.

It was a spell from the ancient language, and it roughly translates its purpose to "guide". It leads individuals to where they were meant to go, by force if necessary.

Aela starts to twitch, and you explain to her what you have remembered. She does not mourn at Hunter's death, spitting on his corpse as she walks by.

A wide jaw clacks from somewhere in the night. You can do nothing but enter the mines. Aela follows behind, knowing that it may be the safest place.
