A Day in the Life

It's nice outside but that doesn't require you to exercise!
Besides, a nice quiet drive is always nice in the morning. You turn the ignition, then sit back and enjoy the ride. No morning radio for you because of course, there is no way to caption the radio or read while driving. That's alright by you!

Hmmm, it seems the people around you are reacting to something. You look in your rearview mirror and spot an emergency vehicle approaching quickly from behind. No matter! You slow down and pull over until the ambulance passes you. This sparks a memory of being 16 years old and at the DMV. You were there to obtain your driver's license and freedom at last! Your mom, who is fluent in ASL, came along and acted as an interpreter. It was a little difficult during the driving test portion to see your mom in the backseat signing instructions given by the proctor of the driving test. In the end, it all turned out well. The proctor smiled, shook your hand, and you looked to your mom when she interpreted the proctor's English for you: "congratulations!"

Afterwards, your mom insisted that you would drive the two of you to get ice cream. She smiled broadly across the table from you as you enjoyed ice cream together.

You shake your head releasing the memory's hold on your attention. Already by the cafe! You're not so hungry anymore but a refreshing beverage would be nice. Looks like you have a few minutes to spare...
