A Day in the Life
You pull over in front of the cafe, already buzzing with people hanging around drinking their morning coffees.
It's challenging to live in a big city sometimes but man, you love it! In fact, you frequent this particular cafe so often that the employees usually recognize you and have a pen and piece of paper ready to take down your order. What great customer service!
You pass by the usual lot of interesting people as you walk into the cafe. You're loving the atmosphere but you've got to get in and out to get to work on time.
You make your way to the cashier and notice that there is someone new standing behind the counter. They must be a new employee. You smile apprehensively and wonder if another employee you recognize is around. Nope, and it looks like the regular pad of paper and pen are elsewhere as well. No matter, you whip out your phone and open a blank note in your note app. You type out your order-- orange juice and a small cheese danish as a snack for later-- and show it to the cashier. At first she reads the note with her eyebrows furrowed in polite confusion then looks up at you with excitement and a bit awkwardly signs, "YOU DEAF YOU"
