Erinyes Game

As quietly as you can, you put the panel back down and try to get out of the room. In your terror you end up stumbling, knocking into boxes and things and making much more noise than you intended.

You don’t know what to do—surely the Fury heard you by now? Were they just outside, waiting for you now? You wished you had some sort of guidance to help, but all you can do is fumble your way through the storage room, clumsily trying to escape.

The second you open the storage room door you gasp and try to backtrack. The Fury is standing right there, knife in hand, mask covering their face. Even so, you have the feeling that they’re staring right at you.

You hastily try to back away, only to trip on a rag and fall right on your back. You end up crawling backwards in your efforts to escape, all to no avail. Your back hits a large box and they corner you there, pointing the knife at you.

The Fury pauses there for a tense moment, knife aimed right at your neck. You can’t help but wonder why they aren’t killing you right now—one slice and you would be finished.

Instead, they shake their head and step away from you, moving further into the supply closet.

“Hades!” They yell, voice muffled by the mask. “I am not about to do her in like this. She doesn’t even have a way to defend herself. This is pathetic!”

You watch them go with wide eyes, wondering why that voice sounds so familiar.

“This is ridiculous,” they continue to complain. “Without giving her a way to fight back against me, you’re just going to let me slaughter her like this? And then what?” Their voice fades away, and for some reason, you feel compelled to follow. You find that the wooden panel from before is lifted. They must have gone through.
