A Tale of Two Choices
Fat Brenda dragged herself into the chill room and looked angrily at the orphans, looking for some sign of idleness.
"Greetings, sister," whined Noah, "I'm off to share in Pater's roast beef. I will come back in about an hour."
With that he crept out of the room leaving Brenda in charge.
Dorothea looked up from her pointless sewing. She could not help being poor and without parents. Life had been unkind and there was no hope in her heart for anything better. She caught Brenda's eye.
