Just as Craig was about to continue typing out his next selection, the door behind him creeked open.
Startled, Craig quickly spun himself around.
"Craig, you here?" Asked a young familiar voice.
The head of Craig's ten year old brother Caleb peeked though the partially opened door. Caleb had short brown hair and blue eyes.
"Caleb! W-what are you doing here?!" Craig yelled in shock. "I thought you were supposed to be at your friend's house today!?" The teen added as he backed his chair up against the desk in an awkward attempt to conceal what he was doing.
"Andrew's mom said he couldn't play because he didn't do good on a test...." Caleb responded as he slowly walked into the room. "What are you doing?" The boy asked intently as he stepped closer.
"Hey ...I'm kinda busy with something important right now.... could you uh... just give me some privacy for a bit???" Craig responded hastily as he tried his best to block the view of both of the devices behind him.
Caleb had always had a big mouth when it came to Craig's business, the last thing the older sibling needed was for his kid brother to find out that he had come into possession of something illegal.
"....Busy with what??" Caleb questioned with intrigue as he continued to step closer. It seemed that the precocious sixth grader had already managed to detect that his big bro was hiding something.
"C-Caleb, I'm serious! Get out!!" As Craig stood up and began to usher the boy away, It was then that the ten year old noticed something unusual on the desk next to his brother's computer.
"Hey!! Wait a sec!....I've seen that thing before!! .... !!!"
The boy's eyes shot open as remembered where he had previously seen the odd device. "Isn't that one of those transformer thingys?!" He gasped excitedly.
("Damn it....") Craig grimaced as Caleb ran past him to get a closer look.
"How did you get this!? Aren't these banned??" Caleb began sputtering an endless line of questions as Craig contemplated the best way to explain.
"-sigh- Alright look, I picked it up a few days ago, but you can't tell ANYONE, alright??!
"Have you tried it yet? Does it actually work? Can I see??" Caleb seemed to completely ignore his older sibling as he excitedly took a seat and turned his attention to the computer screen.
The highschooler scowled as he grabbed hold of the swivel chair and roughly turned caleb to face him.
Leaning in close, Craig repeated himself. "LISTEN. I'll show you how it works, but you NEED to PROMISE me that you won't tell mom and dad! GOT IT??" Craig looked directly into the boys eyes with a piercing glare.
"I promise!! I promise!! I won't tell ANYONE!" Caleb responded giddily.
Craig sighed. The older teen knew didn't have much leverage in this situation and Caleb probably knew it too.
It was either he let Caleb play along or get ratted out.
