Summer fun
Panting and out of breath, the boys came to a stop just outside the wooded area along the side of the street.
“Alright.. *huff* That's enough *huff*” Danny panted. “I need to get this thing back to my dad's lab!”
“But your dad isn't going to be back for a few more hours!” Justin protested.
“Are you sure we can't play around with it just a little more? How come you only let Justin try it?” Tim asked
“Yeah! Come on dude! We should all get turn!” Sam demanded.
“What the hell guys! I wasn't even supposed to tell anyone about this!” Danny groaned.
“Yeah, but what's the harm now? We might as well play around with it while we can..” Justin repeated.
“......” Danny looked down at his backpack with mixed feelings. He knew that if his dad found out about any of this, the consequences would be enormous.
“Dude, we'll put the thing back before he even knows its gone!” Justin pleaded.
Danny was at the end of his rope. He'd been trying so hard to be responsible.
Danny looked back up and sighed. “.......alright....FINE. But I get final say in what we do with it alright?? We're not going to start shooting this thing around like crazy, alright?..”
The trio cheered, having appeared to have finally swayed their apprehensive friend.
“Lets just go back to my place though. That way if my dad pulls in I can just run downstairs and put it back, alright?” Danny stated.
The group nodded.
The four middle schoolers raced down the street and up Danny's driveway. The sound of the boy's flip flops clapped loudly as they ran up the staircase towards Danny's room.
