Summer fun

The group of friends sat in a circle on the carpeted floor of Danny's bedroom. Each staring at the silver ray gun in front of them with a mixture of excitement and anxiousness.
There was a moment of silent brainstorming as the boys contemplated how they should proceed.
“So.... what EXACTLY are we gonna do with it?” Sam was the first to break the ice.
“I know right?? I got so many cool ideas...” Justin muttered to himself excitedly as he stared intently at the ray gun. The dark haired teen's recent experience in the woods was still fresh in his mind.
“Well.. I guess if we're just going to be using it inside, we probably shouldn't try to grow anything..” Sam recommended.
“Yeah, last thing I need is for a giant pencil to break through one of my walls or something.” Danny agreed.
“Okay, only shrinking stuff then? What should we shrink?” Tim wondered out loud.
The boys began to look around the room for things to test on.
“How about the bed?? I bet it would look really cool if we shrunk it!~” Justin suggested with a playful gleam in his eyes.
“Hey dude! Don't you be getting any ideas! You're not crushing ANY of my stuff!..” Danny threatened.
“Haha....aww, you're no fun!” Justin laughed.
The three continued to chatter away as Tim appeared to quietly contemplate on his own. As the blonde haired boy stared at the device on the floor between his friends, he felt compelled to suggest something.
“Hey, what if we.......shrunk ourselves?” Tim suddenly blurted out.
Everyone went quiet and turned their attention to Tim.
“Wait.....Ourselves?? Damn dude, that would be crazy...” Sam replied. The thought hadn't even occurred to him.
“Oh shit! One of us should volunteer! Imagine how sick that would be!!” Justin was already considering all the nutty possibilities.
“Nuh uh! No way guys! My dad never said anything about it being safe to use on people.” Danny clearly wasn't happy with direction of where this appeared to be going.
Wait! Just think about it man! Imagine one us standing on top of a giant soccer ball or a skateboard! Think of how epicly HUGE everything would look!” Justin continued.
“Yeah sure... It SOUNDS cool, but what if something goes wrong?? Think of all the risks man...” Danny countered.
"It kinda DOES sound pretty awesome dude..... just saying... ” Sam added, clearly taking Justin and Tim's side, as he had been all day.
Danny looked around at each of his friends in disbelief. He felt like he really had to draw the line here. He had been giving into their peer pressure all day, but now they were clearly pushing this too far.
"Guys I'm really serious right now!" Danny stood up from the floor, clearly upset. "If you guys don't listen to me, I'll just put this stupid thing back where I got it from!! ” Danny yelled as he reached down for the device.
Before he could grab it, Justin quickly reached out and snatched it before him.
“Oh stop being such a kill joy dude! We're just having fun~" Justin laughed.
"Justin! I said NO!!!!” Danny charged over and grabbed the front end of the device. Both Tim and Sam stood up and tried to intervene as the other two began fight over possession of the gun.
At some point during the struggle, the trigger was pulled....
*ZZZZZAP*
Danny vanished in a flash, right before everyone's eyes.
The room went dead silent as the three remaining friends just stood still. Each in momentary shock over what just happened.
All three sets of eyes slowly lowered down towards the carpet in front of them. There, barely visible in front of Justin's bare feet, was a small speck atop the beige carpet fibers.
Carefully, Sam lowered himself down on all fours to get a better look at the puny presence.
Upon closer inspection, Sam hesitantly confirmed it. He lifted his head back up with a look of anxiety spread across his face...
"Holy shit dude.....you shrunk him.."
Justin's eyes went wide with wonder as he slowly lowered the device to his side. He hadn't done it on purpose, his finger had sort of just slipped on the trigger..

Danny didn't have time to even have time to react before the light bright engulfed him.
The world around him warped to monstrous proportions as the beige carpeted floor around him turned into a vast landscape. The thick stringy fibers were up to his ankles.
Before Danny could adjust to his surroundings, a large shadow fell over the huge open space around him. This was followed by a series of huge tremors that sent him to his knees. Looking up, the inch tall boy's jaw dropped. He was surrounded by his three colossal tween-age friends.
