The Galactic Adventures of Pierce Darkblade

Awakening in your tent, the early morning winds send a blinding chill down your spine. Upon exiting you see many of the Freevian males are already prepping for battle, some courageous women as well.

The laser weapons you have provided for the Freevians is not nearly enough, only about 30 Freevians are equipped with laser weaponry. The rest of the Freevians are fashioning weapons of their own, primitive wooden clubs and spears, some are better equipped with concussion shields and frost blades. Many of these warriors dip their shields into drinking pools then put them out in the snow to give them a layer of ice to pummel opponents. You like the idea but aren't sure how effective it will be against the Freevians elites tri-shot long rifles.

That is the main weapon of the Freevian guards, the tri-shot. It is obsolete as far as modern laser weapons are concerned but when most of your fighting force LACKS laser weapons it is a huge advantage for the Elite class of Freevus. The rifle can only fire three shots before needing another power pack inserted, yet the shots are no slouches in the killing department. They are large orange beams that sizzle through the air like fire crackers and can punch a hole in a man the size of a bowling ball. Suffice it to say, one direct hit and your dead. It doesn't help that the weapon is incredibly accurate.

You have briefed your crew about the situation and are having a security team stay back at the commune to guard the prime bot. The rest of your crew will provide air support if needed with the Pachyderm. You will be heading into battle leading a force of Freevians. Baldee will be commanding the main force that will attack the council chamber. Your teams job is to form a perimeter around the council chamber from the rooftops of the surrounding buildings to snipe the elite.

Before he leaves to lead his men you hand Baldee a communicator so he can contact you if any issues arise. He looks at it as if he is about to cry.

"I...can't tell you enough how much this will mean to me if we succeed. All my life...i've been a nobody but now...you come from so far away and give us all hope."

You grab his shoulder and smile proudly, "We still have a battle to win Baldee. Tomorrow you will be dining in the council chamber like a king."

He smiles, nods and turns away starting the march toward the council chamber. The main force follows him, as you and your team of 30 run swiftly through the city streets and begin to climb the buildings best suited to snipe from.

Five others and yourself climb to the top of a building directly in front of the council chamber, your not sure what the building is...a hall of records you believe. You have to snuff out two Freevian guards on the roof stealthily to avoid detection. Your hand to hand combat is well renowned within the ranks of the G.A. and the two guards don't even see it coming as you snap their necks one after the other.

Your team readies themselves behind some barricades already in place on the rooftop. You see all the others of your team have secured their spots on the rooftops as well; surrounding the Council chamber, in effect making it a kill zone for whoever emerges from it.

Your communicator beeps,

"Baldee here. I've activated the shovel bot beacon. Closing in on the council chamber."

A frigid breeze begins to blow and the snow begins to come down a bit harder. You could cut the tension with a knife as your team looks around the streets to see if the beacon has worked.

Screams a couple streets over can be heard and you run on the roof to get a better vantage point to see what it is. A shovel bot, chasing down a well dressed Freevian woman. Clearly an elite. She screaming for help, but you just watch as she slips and falls in the snow and the hovering shovel bot proceeds to hack her to pieces with his shovel blade. It's worked, all the bots within range of the beacon will attack the elite Freevians.

You see more Freevians running in the streets being chased by shovel bots as Baldees main force approaches the council chamber. They halt at the main square as Baldee directs his force of shovel bots, around 60, to go into the council chamber.

It doesn't take long for you to hear multiple voices of terrifed screaming and laser shot blasts ringing within the chamber. Suddenly large groups of Freevian nobles are running out into the main square flailing their arms in mad panic as the shovel bots give chase, shovel blades raised like battle axes. The elite who are not cut down by the bots and escape into the square are promptly beaten to death by Baldees men.

A loud voice cries out "TRAITORS!", and its at this point you witness a platoon of Freevian guards emerge, some firing backwards at the chasing shovel bots, others begin firing into the crowd of Baldees troops. Baldee lets loose a furious howl and begins to fire his laser pistol at the guards, shooting two dead immediatley. He storms the steps of the chamber, his men close behind.

A massive scuffle begins to ensue with Baldees commune forces and the Elite guards engaging in close quarters combat. The tri-shot rifle being used is devestating, tearing through multiple troops, severing them in half. But the guards are vastly outnumbered and you can see many of them being skewered by frost blades and bashed with ice coated shields. Baldee leads some of his men into the council chamber to take the building, while the main scuffle is becoming a bloodbath in the main square.

From your vantage point you see more elite guards approaching the main square from the streets. Now is your chance. You give the signal and your team begins to fire with a barrage of laser blasts onto the guards. The first barrage fells at least 17 guards as the rest scramble for cover. Now the guards will have to worry about your snipers while Baldee can kill the leadership of Freevus.

The guards begin to fire back from their positions of cover. Orange blasts sizzling all around you, the powerful blasts blowing chunks of the concrete barricades to pieces. Soon you won't have much cover, but you keep blasting away, an ace shot, hitting three guards in quick succession. You duck as a tri shot blast comes your way. You hear a crackling sizzle. Looking behind you see one of your team was right behind you. The Freevians head is blown half off. He falls to his knees, dead before he hits the ground, You stare at the body in disbelief, one split second and that would of been your head! You grab your fallen Freevians laser pistol, and begin blind firing into the streets below. Large sirens begin to go off within the city, alerting more of the Freevian guard force. The battles about to get ugly you think...
