You stand in the middle of the bridge turning toward the members of your crew. "You heard the man crew! We've been fired!"
"We have no source of income anymore." Your second in command, Commander Fraglon, states. " No income to purchase fuel for the ship or maintain engineering."
"This is an amazing opportunity commander." You reply "We are free of G.A. command. We can change the course of history by our actions! We are a brave and sturdy crew, together we could change the universe!" Fraglon begins to slowly nod in agreement.
"So what do you all say? Stay with me on the ship and we'll find a way to make things work in our favor."
Lt.Mason chimes in, "We've stood by you this long captain, none of us are going anywhere!"
The rest of the crew nods in agreement. You have their loyalty. The only question now is what to do first? You are currently in the Volturb System, the mission you were on was a mission of good will toward the planet Freevus. The natives had been subjected to a series of killer meteorite impacts that have destroyed a couple of their cities. The original mission was to provide shipments of food to the homeless and assist the planet in building a planetary shield to protect it from future meteorites. In exchange the people of Frrevus would swear allegiance to the Galactic Alliance. Obviously that doesn't matter anymore for you, so this mission would be purely based on helping others.
On the other hand you need money to provide upkeep on your ship. Money is one thing the people of Freevus do not have. Checking your navigation consoles you notice there is a trading station orbiting another planet in the system. You could sell the food and planetary shield to the highest bidder on a trade station and make a healthy sum of money, enough to fuel your ship and maintain the ship for awhile. You turn away from the nav computer, you have made your choice.
