Time Traveller

Within a few moments, there is an ear splitting blast from a battle horn. The sound knifes into the still air, and you stand up.

"Let's go!" You scream at the men. They roar with battle fury and stand and charge with you as you head towards the East wall. You can't see any defenders there, indicating they did not think you would attack from this way.

Suddenly, though, a man charging next to you falls on his face, an arrow sticking out of the back of his head...the back? It strikes you too late, as more of your men begin to fall.

"Ambush!" you shout, turning. Unexpectedly, an arrow takes you in the shoulder and you are thrown backwards. You fall on your back, yelling in pain, before scrambling to your feet and making a run for it. The east attack has failed, and there's nothing you can do. You rush through the woods to your machine, expecting a hail of arrows any second, but none come, and you dive into your machine. You press the panel, your vision showing white edges from the pain of the arrow wound, and with a sickening lurch, and a loud thump, you are back in the lab.

"Welcome back! Welcome! Did you get..." The overseer trails off as you stagger out of the machine with an arrow in your arm.

"What happened? You've only been gone five minutes!"

"Maybe five minutes in this time," you say, "I've been there a day and a half."

The overseer looks astounded as you try to wrench the arrow out of your arm. He stares for a moment and then begins to tap into the database.

"Were you involved in a medieval battle to take a castle, by any chance?" He says. You nod.

"Well there is mention here of a Commander White, the man from the future that appeared from nowhere, and disappeared during the battle. It was commonly thought that he was shot in an ambush force, and carried off by the defenders."

"That's all true!" You say, "except the being carried off. I ran."

You finally suceed in removing the arrow and you hand it to the overseer, who takes it looking rather sick.

"Come with me to the medical block," says the overseer. You follow him, and stems the blood flow from your wound. You stay in the medical block for a couple of hours, talking with the doctors and the overseer. Eventually, the overseer stands up.

"Are you well enough to go to a different timezone?" He says. You nod, and he gives you a list of the places he wants to research.

Where will you go?
