Another Monday Morning

"Okay, copper," you whisper, "I'll tell you -- but just this once! One day I was out fishing in a tiny boat in the middle of a pond. It was midnight. I was growing weary, for I had been on the water for nigh of three days by then, when presently my fishing line became taught! I sat up quick and began reeling in my catch with all of my fortitude. After fighting with the creature on the line for five hours, I finally yanked it up out of the dark water and into my tiny boat! What I saw then I was not prepared for at all, for it was -- Hey! Are you sleeping?"

"Huh? What?" says the cop, jumping up in startlement.

"How can you sleep in the middle of my story! It's an awesome story!" you shout.

"Well... I didn't understand some of the words you were using... and you were taking a really long time getting to the point, so..."

"Fine! Why don't you tell the story then!"

At this point in time, other cops have noticed that you're not dead at all, and they are all staring at you in wide-eyed disbelief.
