Forest Dweller

You fly forward gracefully, your wings glowing and lighting up the darkness around you. The light washes over the walls, causing them to disintegrate. The ball is on its way back now. Spinning around you pull back your arm and throw forward a giant ball of green energy. Even before it reaches its target you are upon it, ready to go for whatever remains. The ball of green energy hits the ball of threads, and each strand writhes in pain as the soothing magic of the forest washes over it. You keep flying forward, propelling yourself through the energy you created and allowing it to power your speed further.

Your target becomes clear- there is a small, heart-looking object in the center. Even as the threads die, more fly from the wall to take their place. You reach the heart as soon as the green ball clears, and suddenly you are trapped within the giant black ball. It is huge now, it appears to be shying away from your wings; thus expanding itself to prevent any unnecessary contact. The heart beats vibrantly. You see that the largest threads connect to it, holding it in place. Your only option lies in the great monstrosity before you; destroy the core and escape. Your wings shine brighter and brighter and the ball expands, shrinking away in fear. This gives you a lot of room to maneuver, and you begin to fly around the heart while releasing wave after wave of green energy at it from your fingertips. If someone were to watch you right now, your movements would probably remind them of a dance; fluid and graceful. As you clench your fists and prepare to fire a punch of white light to finish the job, however, you feel yourself being sucked away. All of the threads are being pulled in at once, all towards a single point on the ground. You are reminded of a black hole. The threads compress on you, crushing your body. Your wings flap and the shrinking ball expands for a moment, giving you enough time to turn around and blast the same white light you planned to earlier to free a path. No sooner have you formed a small hole then it begins to fill up again with the remaining threads; at this rate you will be sucked into whatever is pulling you as well! You fly through the hole quickly, feeling it shut around your foot. You kick free and continue forward, fighting the wind that pulls you back.

It is like fighting in a hurricane. While normally you would be dodging roofs, trees and small, unlucky dogs, you are faced with what looks like a yarn ball's bad hair day. Threads fly around you, twisting violently and trying time and time again to snare you in their clutches. You perform intricate patterns, weaving in and out of the threads that lash towards you like long, connected, live, angry whips. Finally you reach the end, turning around to see miles of black thread being pulled into a small, human-like figure. You don't have to guess to know what you are staring at. Even with that small body, that being produced enough threads to create high walls and a huge, writhing black ball of living yarn. You are not facing anything human, not anything near human; in fact despite his body's shape comparing to him with humans would be an insult to mankind.

You fly back down to face him, now fully aware of what you face...
