“Sure you were, you could’ve just left the girl to die along with her mother. You didn’t though, I imagine for several reasons. Such as your not so secret need for living mortal company, or your dormant paternal instinct that apparently has gotten stronger in your later years. Even I didn’t see that one coming until you took in this girl’s mother a decade ago.”
