The Island of Destiny

As you gaze at this wretched soul, the knife sweating in your hand to be used, you begin to feel a cloud of pity form over your pulse of anger and delusion. What good would it be to kill this man, someone already so filthy and rotten? He seems to sense that you are not about to kill him and then with a mighty howl, he rages towards you with his fists-

Only to be stopped by a long-edged sword sticking out of his chest! As he falls to the ground, you are met again with the looming presence of Cap'n John Bones. He snarls at you and then raises his sword again. But he underestimates your agility and in that quick second, you dart out to the side of him and dash into the jungle. He curses behind you but you do not care, you are away. You run through the jungle at a maddening pace, gradually dropping to a jog, but overall you run for about an hour.

Finally, when you slow down and gasp for your breath, you find yourself in an isolated part of the jungle. You stand next to a waterfall and the roar of the current muffles your own gasping breaths. You need to find out what to do. You feel more lost than ever though and gazing around just solidifies for you how crazy your situation is.

You clear your mind by finding some food, berries and some ripe bananas from a tree. You drink from a stream and then you begin to churn out coherent thoughts again. You realize that if there is a way you could possibly outsmart these pirates, there is a chance that perhaps you could take their boat. You know a lot about modern sailing, though you aren't sure how well that will transfer over to a boat from the century these men look to be from. But you decide that you need to spy on the pirates in order to know what they are exactly here to do on this island.

That night, you creep back to the part of the beach where the pirates had previously tied you up. You see that Bones is there with several of his crew, laughing and drinking around a roaring fire. You hear the captain's booming voice and the rest of his crew laughing. Should you get closer to hear what they are saying? Or you notice a rowboat near, small enough for one person to control. Should you wait until they are asleep and then take the rowboat to the bigger pirate ship?
