Bang

You head into the bathroom with your arms stretched out in front of you like a beetle's feelers. You feel for the wall, knowing that you'll find the bathroom mirror and then the cupboard.
Your fingers skim across the mirror and you kneel on the ground in front of the cupboard. The handles of the cupboard feel slick under your hands. You blame it on the loss of electricity, no airconditioning and the dry summer heat. You pull on the doors of the cupboard which open with a long creak and you rumage inside the cupboard for the candles.
You find a lighter and a few small candles, lighting one so you can see in front of you for about a half metre.
"Found them!" You call, "They're only small though."
"That's fine, just come down stairs." You hear your mother say.

You head downstairs with the lighter and candles.
In the kitchen, your dad is cleaning out the freezer and putting all the items into an esky and your mum is attempting to light the gas stove but to no avail.
You set some candles down on the kitchen counter and light them, plunging the kitchen into a warm glow.

"I think I got the stove working, I can hear a hissing noise which I think means that the gas is working!" Your mother exclaims.
"Mum, that's not necessarily a good thing. You could end up filling this room with gas, and ultimately, blow up the house.....
