Devils
Your lungs start to burn, and your limps are growing stiff in the cold but you force yourself to move faster, it's too late to turn and try to loose the beast, you've only got one choice-- to run.
You listen to it closing in faster, huffing and panting low rough grunts as it's hands pound on the wet pavement. It was getting closer, even with a series of wounded limps it had the advantage.
Your eyes scan the road up ahead where a construction site is, you take the only opportunity you can-- you haphazardly rush into the site, careful not to trip in the wet mud.
It would seem the beast isn't as prepared for the new terrain as it slips and falls into the mud with a loud roar setting your nerves on edge. You don't need to turn to see it's struggling to regain it's footing, you just rush into the maze of machines searching for a new weapon.
The beast slams into a crane right behind you, shaking the great machine and sending your heart into a frenzy. Grabbing the first thing you find turn to face the roaring creature struggling to move around the crane as you ready the steel pole like a bat.
With a fierce swing you hit the monster knocking it backwards, more blood splattering around, the smell thick.
The beast whimpers trying to regain it's footing in the mud again but you were ready for it-- lifting the steel pole over your head, rain pouring down over you-- you struck it hard. Again, and again till you were dripping in blood.
Panting for breath you dropped the pole and stumbled backwards falling to your rear stunned.
You killed it... whatever it was.
But it seems there was no time to relax, a loud scream to the west breaks the silence making your hair stand up.
What do you do?
