Revenge of the Ronin
You wander the village, thinking you may find some help in these people. It is a typical village, with typical people, but it is growing dark, and you decide perhaps finding a tavern might be a good idea. Just as you are about to turn, however, you get a sense of danger, and dodge to the right. A shuriken hits the dirt just where you were standing, gleaming red in the sunset.
"Ninja!" you hiss to yourself, releasing your sword. You see movement in the shadows to the left of you, and turn to face that way, but there is nothing there. You hear an almost silent movement above you, and look up to see a figure running along the rooftops. The ninja has made his getaway.
You glare at the retreating figure.
"You shall not come this close again without dying, Ninja!" you shout to the night.
What will you do now? You can find a tavern, or try to hunt down the ninja?
