The shape of a lone Black Sun fighter spacecraft cut silently through the vacuum of space. The stealthy ship was hidden from all sensors, both visual and electronic, of all the ships in the CEL Corporation's fleet. Black like the void, it slipped by the hull of a CEL cruiser like a piece of space junk, unimportant and unnoticed. Once it was about thirty kilometers away from the giant warship, the small ship's ion engine powered up and it sped away toward its objective. Bernice was seated on the left of the pilot's seat, looking from screen to screen on the ship's controls. All of them looked normal, and the engines that had started up appeared to be running fine. She looked up through the cockpit at the green planet looming up in front of them. Alex, the pilot, turned around to face them, looking from her to Morgan to David.
