"Well," said Sonja, "since you have special sight, you have just the same abilities as us. It's just that you have less training and experience."
"But," added Cassidy, "you're also mortal. You're completely indistinguishable from any other normal person. That makes you a perfect spy. No one would expect that you're capable of using power objects, let alone that you can tell the difference between people and demons."
"And that makes you perfect for the first part of our mission," finished Sonja. "You can sneak into their base, eliminate their security, take the information, and leave without raising an eyebrow."
"Okay, I gotta admit," said Blaine, "if I ignore how weird the situation is, this whole thing sounds pretty exciting. So, where's their base? A seedy lair hidden in an abandoned building? A massive underground labyrinth hidden in abandoned sewers?"
"Actually, it's the midtown bowling alley," said Sonja. "It really does make sense for them," she continued, seeing Blaine's crestfallen face. "It's got an arcade near the front, and a concession stand that serves beer in the back. Anyone from the ages of sixteen to sixty could be there without raising any suspicion at all. The demoninjas can hang out there no matter who they're possessing."
"But it's completely public!" said Blaine. "How do they conduct business if they can't even discuss secrets?"
"They can operate on other planes of reality, remember?" said Cassidy. "All of those normal people aren't a threat, because they can't even see what's going on. But they're still around, creating an effective meat shield that the angels are afraid to damage."
"So, you can start to see why you're a much better choice for this first task than either Cassie or I," said Sonja.
"Yeah, I wait, if any demoninja you kill frees the host, wouldn't all freed hosts have all vision types like me?"
"You're the exception, not the rule," said Sonja, with a shrug. "Most people remember nothing from the time during which they were possessed. It might have to do with the fact that you weren't even possessed for fifteen minutes. Or, maybe you had some sort of strong emotional or willpower defense, which prevented him from fully taking control of you."
"The short answer is that we don't know," interrupted Cassidy. "So, let's move on to something we do know. Let's make you a power focus. Samurangels, demoninjas, and vampirates are all off limits. But, that's the sort of thing you should be shooting for. A generic type of warrior with a bunch of stereotypes, something that's easily recognized at first glance. Think children's Halloween costumes, if you have to."
"Aww, do I have to choose one? Can't I go without, or switch between a few?"
"Picking a focus helps you create objects with much less effort," said Sonja. "Sure, I'm limited to objects that a samurai might reasonably have. But without this focus, I'd barely be able to make a small throwing pebble, let alone a long sword with an impossibly sharp cutting edge."
"I guess that makes just as much sense as anything else you've told me," admitted Blaine. "Anyway, I think I've made my choice. I'd like to be a "
