"AnÂ… interesting choice," said Sonja, raising her eyebrow. "But still, it is done. Congratulations, Blaine, you are now a Viking."

"I kinda like it," said Cassidy. "Bold, with a calm calculating mind beneath all of that savage strength. And it means he gets access to a wide variety of melee weapons without having to bother with anything silly, like a code of honor or something."

Sonja glared sharply at Cassidy, but said nothing.

"Anyway," continued Cassidy, "you probably won't be able to make much in advance. Viking weapons are usually very large and clunky. You can probably pull off a knife, but anything else will have to be made during the mission. I can't think of anything the size of a battle-ax that one can carry around without gaining suspicion."

"Well, I do have this," said Blaine, lifting up the satchel he was using as a backpack. "I figure this can be a round shield, and if I get one of those portable umbrellas, I can use that as a sword or something."

"How clever," said Cassidy, grabbing one of Blaine's hands and holding it in her own. "That's a great idea, Blaine. It won't attract attention, and you'll be able to be fully armed when you sneak in."

"Yeah, yeah, really good idea," said Sonja, glaring at the embrace.
