Daybreak
Blaine froze. Cassidy was lying draped across his bed, as if she'd been in his room the whole time. "What's the matter, Blaine? Are you not happy to see me? That simply won't do. I command that you be happy to see me."
"Oh, Cassidy," said Blaine, with a smile so wide his eyes looked like they were crying. "I'm so glad your powers have somehow let you into my home, where I'm completely alone with no one to help me! Without Sonja around, I've never been so happy to die just because I told you no!"
"Maybe the happy command was a bad idea," she said, watching as his earnest smile caused his eyebrows to twitch dangerously. "Well, no matter. I'm not Sonja. I don't trust you to be silent. I simply could not forgive myself if I let you mess up this mission for us. And, I'd feel bad, butÂ… well, this is much nicer than what the demoninja would have done to you, right? Right.
"Blaine, I command you not to breathe."
Cassidy watched as Blaine took one final breath before his lungs refused to cooperate. Blaine tried to beg for mercy, but found that his voice no longer worked. He clawed at his throat, trying to remove the blockage that didn't exist. It did not take long before he fell to his knees, gasping for the air that would never come.
Cassidy stood in the doorway, watching Blaine's final moments with a somber face. "For what it's worth, I really did always think you were cute."
With that, Cassidy turned off the lights and left, leaving Blaine alone in the dark to die.
