Mystic Elevator
At least you're not a coward -or- More reclusive behavior
You stay home. The television resumes normal programming, an old Simpson's rerun. The one where Homer gets permission from God to skip church in order to watch football. Then on to Married With Children, the one where Marcy Darcy and Peggy break up the No Ma'am meeting and Jefferson takes off his "No Ma'am" shirt to reveal a "Yes Ma'am" one beneath.
When the evening news comes on at eleven you don't find much else about the event. You check other local news stations and find one reporting about the incident. The camera man gets a shot of the man-thing as it exits the building. It is dressed in a shirt and tie but runs like a wild beast. It shoves the reporter hard to the ground and tackles the camera man to the ground. He is hunched over the heavy-set camera man. The screen goes black and cuts back the anchor people who describe the scene as "horrific".
You go to bed that night shaken. You dream of that thing that killed the cameraman. It looked human enough but there was something definately inhuman about it, and it was more than just the super natural speed with which it moved. In your dream you had gone to work but arrived late only to find a scene of carnage at the office with mutilated bodies soaking the office carpeting a dark shade of red. Then you saw him, huddled over a body engorging himself on the flesh.
You took in a sharp breath and backed away until your back hit a cubicle wall. He stopped eating and looked up at you, blood spatter all over his face. He came rushing at you with uncanny speed, a business tie flapping in the breeze over his shoulder. As he got closer he opened his jaws to reveal rows of pointed teeth. Before he could reach you, you woke up.
You're still sweating over it ten minutes after it ends, your heart beating in your chest. That's foolish though. You glance at the clock and see that it is morning.
You stumble your way tiredly to the bathroom and take a good long piss, stretching as you go. Afterward you make your way to the television but the cable seems to be out.
You wonder what's going on out there.
