You wait a bit longer for the lizard to be almost upon you, and then roll quickly to the side.

The lizard swings its sharp claws at you, raking your back. You cry out in pain. Your back feels wet. The pain is almost unbearable. You are starting to get number and number, when the lizard turns you over. You stare at those black, cold and lifeless eyes, and watch as the lizard opens its' jaws wide, revealing long rows of sharp teeth. The last thing you see is the lizard biting down on your face, and the feeling of the sharp teeth entering the sides of your head.
