The Island of Destiny

As you enter this small, curious hut you take a hesitant glance around to make sure that there is nobody else in the area. You can't help but feel a certain eerie vibe coming from this village of abandoned tree huts. You wonder what kind of people built these here. As you enter the hut, you smell a sweet but curious fragrance that makes you think of ominous distant memories. You see that the room is plain enough, with a small cot covered with blankets and an encompassing animal skin. There are a few books scattered around this cot, light reading you presume. On a nearby desk, there are a few ornaments propped up on top of it. From this side of the hut, you cannot really tell what any of them are supposed to be. You also see papers stuffed into one of the desk drawers, an old dirty kind of paper.

You sense that many things in this room will hold answers of some kind. The question is what do you want to observe first?
