a day as someone else

Feeling slightly regretfully as you do so, you push him away and his hands immediately drop.

"I-I'm sorry...I was just...," he mumbles and looks away.
"It's alright, but we're not doing it all in one night in a cave,"
"Yeah, but...it's been so long since I've seen you...,"

At this you stare at him blankly.

"What do you mean? This is the first time we met,"
"Oh, I'm sorry, you still don't remember...,"
"What don't I remember?"
"It's nothing,"
"It doesn't sound like nothing to me!" you said, and what he said earlier came to your mind,"And before...you said something about being freed? What was that all about?"
"That...well, it's sort of a long story,"
"We have all night. In a cave. Which means not much sleep for me,"
"Oh, alright," he sighed, "You know that book earlier...?"
"Yeah?"
"I was inprisoned inside of it for centuries, until the day my fated one appeared before me again,"
"....inside a book? And what's this about a fated one, don't tell me...,"
"It's you, I will only kiss the one I've been waiting for for so long,"
"But I was originally a guy!"
"Well, reicarnation does that sometimes. It messes up your gender. The book recognized you and turned you back to your original gender,"
"...What have you been smoking?"
"What? I never smoke, I was stuck in the book for all this time!"

Staring at him as if he had grown five heads, you can't help but think about the book, and how you felt compelled towards it....

....and how you felt like you were always waiting for something, someone big in your life. Is this it?
