Shadowgate

Leaning over the hole, you reach down. Your hands slide along the inner cavity, feeling for something, convenient, you could say, to aid in your descent.

Recollecting yourself, you rise to your feet, blushing in the remarkable idiocy in that thought process. Nothing in life has ever proven that easy for you.

Shaking the shame, you hop into the hole. An extended moment passes, and you break both your legs. Glancing up through watered eyes, you find yourself in a chamber filled with coffins. The slimy moss floor offered no cushion as you scream relentlessly. Panting heavily, you inhale to scream once more. Pain courses through you. Reaching out your arms to move, you snap a ligament in your calf. The pain is nearly enough to kill you; nevertheless, it is only a matter of time.
