Sighing in playful frustration, Rouge removed the phone from her cleavage, eliciting an accusing stare from her human partner.
"What?" she shrugged innocently, "I don't have pockets in this outfit!"
The two giggled as Rouge looked at her still ringing phone. A private number. Whoever it was, they were persistent.
Finally, she answered, trying to sound sexy.
"Hello?"
"Hello...Rouge..."
The bat almost fell from her perch as she heard this. Fighting back tears of frustration and happiness all at the same time, she finally found her voice again.
"SHADOW! Where have you been?! I've been worried sick! Um...I mean, I've been wondering about you..."
She noticed Topaz's attention was fixated on their conversation now, anxious as to what their mysterious savior had to say.
"I know, and I'm...sorry." those kinds of words didn't come easy to someone like Shadow.
"Where have you been?"
"Soleanna."
"Where?"
"Never mind. I just...wanted to talk..."
Rouge took her seat back on Topaz's desk and began to fumble with the papers as she listened. She then noticed one document with the GUN logo on it, and the Project Shadow symbol.
"Well, Shadow. You picked a right time to talk..."
