Sonic World Adventure Rush!
Mindlessly dozing off in the sun has given Sonic a minor sunburn. Every time he must roll on a stat, he has to take 1 away from the total. This effect lasts until Sonic finds something to ease the pain or leaves for a new location. (make note of this)
A violent explosion snapped Sonic awake, just in time to see a wave of water rushing towards him. After being splashed and nearly drug into the ocean by the rip current, Sonic pulled himself out of the sand and looked up.
Tails came trudging towards him, soaked to the skin and a scowl on his face.
"What was that?" Sonic asked, confused.
"Something exploded out there, and nearly drowned me in the tidal wave." Tails explained, pointing to the smoke on the horizon.
Sonic glanced at the ocean, and saw the water was turning thick and purple, and starting to foam near the shore.
"Gross!" Sonic exclaimed. Upon squinting, he could see a figure approaching over the horizon.
"Stay alert, Tails. There's someone coming!"
Sonic remembered what Johnny had told him about the Badniks, and wondered if they were connected. Perhaps he could get answers from the approaching figure.
Maybe they should split up and cover more ground.
