The Island of Destiny

You notice as you continue walking that the terrain you're walking on is getting more gravely and less plants are in the way. As you raise your head, you gaze waringly at the mountains before you and the hills that spread out around you. You try and direct your eyesight to a small, wavy line over two hills that you have a feeling just might be a river. Should you go investigate or continue towards the mountains?
