You grab the dresser as the snake becomes aware of its surroundings. You pull out each drawer, scanning them, but the key is not there. The snake is right behind you. You rush for the door, and cry out in anguish to see that it is locked. You turn around just in time to see the snake before it beheads you. Your headless body falls to the floor, blood spurting out of the stump of your neck.
