Legend

You head to the ruins fully expecting to be attacked by more undead, but a voice calls out to you instead. It isn't Azoth either. This voice isn't in your head.

"You must be incredibly brave or stupid to go face that demon alone."

You turn and see an elven warrior. You're cautious since for all you know this could be a trick.

"Brave, but with the strength of my deity, I'm confident that I can take this demon."
"Oh I see. A religious man."
"Yes, and what are you doing here, elf?"
"I might ask you the same, but if you must know I'm scouting the area. We had undead wandering into our forests recently and they were coming from this direction. Eventually I tracked the source to here and that's when the demon Azoth tried to assault my mind. He failed, but there's no way I can face him alone, he's too strong and got undead all around. Odd that they don't leave that village area though. One or two might, but not masses of them."
"Perhaps it even takes great effort for Azoth to move tormented dead who's lives were tied here for so longÂ…I mean look at me. I came back."
"Wait, you used to live in that village?"
"Yeah, I left after a large orc attack destroyed everything I held dear. At first I dunno why I came back, but maybe destiny lead me back to destroy the demon who would desecrate the dead for unholy purposes! What are you going to do elf?"
"Well unlike you I was going to not commit suicide and go get reinforcements. While you are obviously powerful and perhaps even have the favor of your deity, would you not agree that it would be easier to battle this demon with help?"
