"Your little friend," Uncle Vernon spat out the word, "here tells me that you have a dental appointment today." His tones were full of disbelief.
"Dental?" I looked at Hermione and repeated myself, "dental?" She was full of self confidence as usual.
"Don't you remember Harry? My parents offered free dental appointments to all of my friends during the school year last year and today is yours." I stared at her my mind blank. I didn't remember anything of the sort, nothing at all. She giggled. "Oh don't be silly Harry, everyone gets nervous about going to the dentist but it's no big deal, really."
"He doesn't remember it, he won't be going," my uncle used that final tone as he said it and there was a bit of malicious joy there too. I wasn't sure why, but it made me angry.
"I do too remember, and you can't keep me from a dental appointment. It's for the health of my teeth, and it isn't like I want to go. I made a promise that I would though, so I have to." Now he was glaring at me.
