Forest Dweller

The forest ahead is beautiful. Untouched by man, it rivals even the forest around the village. You wonder why this portion of the forest is so unique. Ayla...
Her face flickers through your mind like a wavering candle. You need to complete this alive. You need to go back to her.

Elos should be ahead. Even in this magical forest you can sense his presence.

The birds sing in the trees in a strange way. You almost sense a small amount of sorrow within their gentle words. Perhaps they know how weak the forest is right now. You hold its spirit, its energy, its knowledge, its being. Maybe that is why the forest seems so beautiful.

Every leaf shimmers in the morning light, droplets of dew shining like rare pearls. You never noticed the magic it held before. You're also sure you most likely will never feel the same way about the forest again.

Elos is up ahead. An impure energy hangs in the air, you can almost see it sucking life from the air around you. Your eyes widen as your senses deepen, the forest is slowly becoming more and more a part of you. The lines are visible now. A dark purple, they lead through the woods, becoming stronger further along.

Ayla... you hope things between you turn out for the best. You've done many things, whether they be good or bad only time will tell. Her reaction when you left was kind, but... when she finds out you are alive, then what? When all is back to normal, how will your lives change if at all?

Indecision won't help now. You travel through the woods, your eyes glimmering with a strange magic that wasn't there before.

More and more the forest sinks into you. You begin to wonder why you didn't realize its true beauty before. Each living creature holds its own magnificence, its own life. Each life is separate, unique. But they all flow together into a stream that you are a part of as well... as is Ayla.

You see a village up ahead. Smoke rises from its rooftops. A fire? No. Pollution. You feel a strange sadness for the sky and what it must be going through. For the earth in general. How long will this planet last in this state?
Will it be enough? Will stopping Elos be enough? You doubt it. Humanity is on its path now, very little can stop it... very little besides a catastrophe that would show them the errors of their ways.

Enough thinking. Enough hesitating. Elos is ahead, and your goal will be accomplished. You have to save the village. Save Ayla. Save the woods.

You finally arrive. There are no guards at the gates. Is Elos waiting inside? There's only one way to find out...

You have 1 choice:
