"Sir? Is it alright to go swimming?" I asked hesitantly. I'd never been to a beach before and it seemed like a fun thing to do. Snape looked up at me as though I was mad.

"What?" he asked, looking at me in horror. I shrugged and sat down.

"I take that as a no," I said softly. Somehow I didn't fear him at this moment, a strange thing indeed. I put my chin on my knees.
