Forest Dweller

You climb into the shaft, only to feel the beams give way instantly and fall onto your body.

You hold up a beam and quickly dive to the side, watching the rest fall down. The unstable part of the mine has collapsed so there's no need to fear any further collapse (the rest looks much sturdier), but it has also blocked your way out. If this is a trap set by Elos, it'll be hard overcoming it. Then again, so far it looks safe- ignoring the recent accident. Elos could have set any number of things on you by now. Still, Elos likes to play mind games, so it's best not to drop your guard. Either way, the only way to go now is down into the darkness.

You walk for a while, leaving the shelter of the comforting light far behind. It's not long before you are closing your eyes, using your other senses to guide you. The elves have mastered this technique- although you are still a bit rusty. There's the smell of rotting flesh down the passage to your left, and the smell of a garden to your right. From the right, however, you hear faint cries of agony while from the left you hear children laughing and birds chirping.

You're now positive that you are in Elos's trap. You feel a strange pull in each direction- the right seems to pull on your emotions while the left almost is acting like a magnet for your body. So the left is physical, rotting flesh and children laughing, birds singing...
While the right is a garden, cries of agony and emotional.

Elos is sure one twisted monster. Then again, maybe it isn't Elos. Maybe you've wandered into something far greater. You don't sense Elos's presence at all. Elos just might not be your only threat, you think.

Well, which way to go? A name pops into your head for each direction- how convenient.
