While you know what to expect, you're not sure if you still want to go down there. It's up to you if you want to play hero or just do it out of greed, but if you choose to go you're familiar with the place and know something of what to expect that you will not suffer any darkness combat penalties when you enter the ruins. Also, since you're already encountered Azoth, you'll be ready to steel yourself against any mind tricks he may play on you, meaning you'll be able to automatically succeed in a MIND test against him. (This doesn't apply to combat)
