Survival comes first, morals second. After a brief glance at the bodies, you take off down the street, your feet kicking up little clouds of dust with each step.

You waste no time fleeing the ugly scene in front of the sheriff's office, and make your way to the stables with much haste. You find your horse, Betty, right where she should be.

After cutting your horse loose, you saddle her up as fast as you can manage and practically leap up onto her back. Your heels dig deep into her and you almost feel bad as she lets out a pain filled whinney before springing to action and galloping out of the stables.

Gunfire greets you one the streets and a bullet rips through the surface flesh of your shoulder. Your horse gallops on and you rejoice despite the pain.

Your enthusiasm with the success of your escape is short lived, however, as another slew of gunshots is unloaded. More than a few of the bullets bury themselves in Betty and she collapses to the ground, launching you from the saddle to land painfully on the ground.

Everything goes black.

When you open your eyes again, your vision is distorted but slowly clears to reveal the forms of three Vigilantes standing over you. One of them holds a pistol loosely in his hand, smiling and ugly smile as he looks down on you.

"G'night," he says, raising the barrel so that it points at your head. The smirk never leaves his face. He winks at you before he pulls the trigger.

The pain is immediate and intense, but shortly lived.
