You decide to investigate Obreal's defenses at the ocean front before harassing him with petty worries.
Along with training new recruits, fortifying all the walls to the city, making plans for the direction of Metropolis, keeping the city in order, in addition to distributing and growing rations, you want to worry Obreal over a waterfront you didn't bother auditing? It's best for you to check it out personally and leave Obreal to his duties.
The walk through Metropolis is a familiar one. It isn't that large a place, but the variety is good enough. The southern sector has just started to bloom into what the Western and Northern sectors are today. You think about how Metropolis has grown since your parents first scuttled you here. What you remember being a ragged and hopeless gathering of misfits now is a self-sufficient city, impenetrable to the undead.
You cross a line of the dead grass that used to be a carpet for the old Southern wall. Small reminders of what was a stone and wood wall are staggered down the line of dead grass. It really calls your attention to how very new this extension to the city is. Without any need for dramatics, you step forward onto the new turf towards the ocean.
You had expected a sand bar and a slow descend into the waterbody. Instead you found a drop off, a 90 degree cliff which digs down at least fifteen feet into the water. This man-made underwater wall looks suspiciously similar to the old Southern barrier.
You had no place to doubt Obreal. This border is completely secured.
When you bend over to pick up a rock to skip into the gulf, you noticed a man wearing a purple cape about ten feet behind you.
"Can I help you?" You have no choice but to ask. He smiles warmly and says, "I'm a minister of the New Church. I'm, uh, just taking a stroll. There is nothing you can help me with. You know, service starts in twenty-five minutes. Will you be going?" He speaks very forwardly.
He seems very warm and inviting, but you've never really had an interest in the church before. You have a lot of time to kill so you should use this opportunity for something. If you go, you might be able to figure out what service is like. Alternately, you could follow this man discreetly and check out what goes on behind the scenes in the church.
