Darkness and Light
You are not aware of any portals to the dark realm near the desert, and it leads away from the portal you used to get here, which was in the graveyard west of the city. Also there should be very few humans in that direction, even if Tagon tries to attract attention while chasing you. It appears to be the ideal direction to go.
If "ideal" means being destroyed. When Tagon reaches you, he will surely kill you. However, there is no choice. You only hope you can fly for long enough so that, by the time Tagon catches up with you, it will be near sunrise. That way he will be unable to escape to the dark realm, and have no shelter from the sun. He, too, will be destroyed, and you will become a reluctant hero.
You are vaguely aware of Tagon's angry shouts as you fly grimly towards your doom. Exhausted, you feel yourself slowing down, and the only thing keeping you going is desperation. Luckily, Tagon expended so much energy on senseless screaming, that he is also growing weary.
Glancing down, you suddenly glimpse a small white tent amid the unchanging desert terrain.
