As she charges toward you, you bend down and pick up a fist sized rock. You stand back up and wait patiently for her to reach you.

Moments later she is upon you, and you waste no time swiping at her with the stone. She reacts quickly, you note, and attempts to duck under your attack and minimizes the potential damage to a glancing blow.

You spin around, prepared to continue the battle, only to see that she has continued on her course, charging with reckless abandon through the valley and along the trail.

A howl sounds behind you and several barks sound in reply. The howls and barks aren't exactly close, but are far from distant. You estimate that they are a few hundred yards back, and should be upon you in less than a minute.
