Dropped

You reach out for the flotation device. You grab it, and pull on the cord. The Device inflates instantly, but you were to close to it. The device inflates and hits your head.
Your head flies back, and smashes against something sharp.
You dont even feel pain now.
Something pulls you up, and whatever was jabbed into your head is taken out.
You feel an incredible amount of pain, and black out.
