Legend

When you get back to the Church, you find it practically destroyed. This causes you to run inside prepared to fight whatever may lay inside, but it's too late. Everything and everyone is dead, though it looks like not without a fight. Dark One cultists and other enemies count among the dead of your own brethren. You search for Father Alberto, only to find him dead as well. Most of the Church has been looted as well, if you were keeping anything here, it's gone now.

At first you nearly blame yourself for what has happened, maybe if you'd been here, maybe you could've stopped this from happening, but you realize you couldn't be everywhere. One thing that does concern you is the future of the faith of the One True God in this City, and if the Dark One's influence has still won this day.

All your questions are soon answered.

In a few days while you're trying to clean up the Church, the rioting stops altogether and order is finally restored. The late Father Alberto's fears of Farad taking over are squashed when you find out that Farad was killed. However, the Baron was still killed in the ensuing chaos, leading to the Baron's daughter Ludmilla to take power. You don't know what happened to the "agent" that Father Alberto had in the Castle. You're guessing he killed Farad, but was also killed in the process.

You have no real idea of what to do next, but the remaining faithful are looking to you for guidance, so you attempt to take Father Alberto's place in the days to come, but Ludmilla's new reforms make it a bit difficult for religions in general. She claims that because it was her brother's worship of the Dark One she is going to prevent this kind of chaos from happening again. All religious practices of any kind must be confined to their respective places of worship alone. This means no conversion practices or asking for donation on the streets. Any person not following this law will be harshly dealt with and their faith being outlawed from the city altogether.

This disheartens you to have your hands tied in such a way, but defying the City's laws won't accomplish anything. Having a little light in this wickedly dark city is better than nothing, but you cannot stay here. You were meant to serve HIM in a more active way. Funny, but all this introspection makes you think of home, and ultimately that's where you decide to head to.

Before you leave you "field promote" one of the more dedicated commoners to become the local priest of the city. He is over joyed to take on such a task and honor. You explain to him that it won't be easy, but he should do his best to keep the light of the One True God burning, even if it is faint right now. Hopefully one day though it will fill the City. He tells you that you may keep anything you like in the Church and it will still be here whenever you wish to return.
